280SEL has NO power (vacuum leak?) - Benzmac, Gilly, Steve?
 

My 280SEL barely has enough power to accelerate. It was running with no problems until it sat for a couple of weeks. Now it is impossible to accelerate the car beyond 30 mph, unless I am coasting downhill. In this condition I can't drive the car to the shop, so it looks like I have to fix it.

I don't know if it is related or not, but I can hear a pronounced vacuum leaks that becomes louder as engine speed increases. Any suggestions what to look for or where I should start?

Can anybody offer some suggestions for me? It may not be a vacuum leak, I'm not sure. Either way, I need to get this car running because I will be commuting with it soon.

Somebody please help.
