Seeing spark......
 

Can anyone help? One day I was driving, the cooling thermostat cover was broken off causing it to spill cooling all over the spark-plug area. Anyway, I replace the cover. Everything seems fine, but I notice there is spark from the spark plug area. So, I drove it....the first and second gear seem rough, but by thrid and fouth
gear and it run perfect. Can someone tell me what is going on?
Is it the spark-plug wire, spark-plug connector or maybe a bad
spark-plug? Does it also mean I have to pull it out to clear maybe?
How do you take the plug out? Do you first pull the plastic cover off and then screw off the spark-plug? Thank-you

looks like the high tension circuit is taking an easy way to earth, through all the wetness. I would be inclined to dry the engine off completely, secure the expansion tank cap and then see what it does. A good way to see any ignition faults is after dark. Have a look at the engine whilst it is dark and you will see any HT leaks to earth. Good luck !

I don't know much about this spark-plug thing....are you trying to tell me to take the plug out and clear and dry the spark-plug area? :confused:

I would suggest you do not pull off any of the leads and certainly dont remove any of the plugs. I think you ought to dry the engine using a dry towel or cloth on and around the cylinder head area paying particular attention to the plug leads and caps. Why not then leave the engine to dry out on it's own, you will be lucky if the weather is warm where you are at the moment. Once the outside has dried off, then give it a try. Bear in mind that a warm engine will help dry off all the excess moisture. Don't forget to fix the cap either !
