I have read a service bulletin on a check engine light complaint on the 1994-1995 e420 and s420's.. Since the bulletin and I have seen no less than 5 cars with the trouble code 19. It will have to get a new LH-SFI control module to repair. To the tune of 2500 dollars. Anyone else seen this??

I have seen this service bulliten also, and like you have seen 4-5 cars with this complaint. If you have a scan tool that reads live data steam in the LH-SFI system, look at the fuel trim readings, if they are below .930 then you have verified the problem( which is the engine is running too rich ).
I have had all but one person dig deep into the wallet and correct the problem, it is a shame that the problem did not occur when the car was under warranty. Please, let us know if you find any more interesting TSB's. ------------------ MB Medic 14 year MB tech 7 year shop foreman @ independent MB/Volvo shop |

Mr. Medic. You are right. Mercedes admited that there is a problem with this system. I am wondering and am going to check out and see if the 80K mile emmission warranty will apply. I have seen the self adaptation values in the .8-- range.
