The starter on my wife's 1986 190e<8valve> won't engage/turn. I have replaced the safety switch on the trans, and the shift bushings. The key turns with no problem, and returns from the start position like normal. when in the start/run postion everything works except the starter motor. I starter works if voltage is applied directly to it. All fuses are in good shape, as are the battery cables, grounds, cables, and battery.
I am hoping it is the electrical portion of the ignition switch, if so, how is this replaced?
