I bought the outside temperature wire and it seems as though the end that plugs into the fuse box is smaller than the current one I saw and it came with a bunch of 'silver' pins and a little black plastic 'thing'

Does this make sense to anyone? What are these for (the pins and the plastic thing) and is it a universal pin size or did I get the wrong part?

I am trying to replace mine on a 88 560 SEL. The current wire is damaged and there is no sensor, hence I got the entire wire.
