Washer reservior leak
My wiper washer fluid is down 80% in my 1995 C280. In looking
at the washer reservior from above, it appears it has leaked out from a black, rubber plug close to the base of the reservior. Is this plug for emptying out the reservior or for some other purpose? Can one just buy the plug? Thanks for any help!! |

yes the plug is available seperately, but they don't fit very well.

The original tank would not have had this blanking plug. The tank was replaced once already obviously. The only new tank you can get has a hole for both the windshield washer pump and a headlight washer pump. If you don't have the headlamp washer system, they sell you this plug to block off the hole for the other pump.

Gilly,
All Canadian W202 cars have the tank with the little plug right from the factory. I understand that we get the marginally larger reservior as part of the "Canadian" package, as it holds nearly 6L of washer fluid. That said, this little rubber plug failing is a common problem here, and I can't understand why NO dealer stocks the item. Cripes.
