Help--Can't put a 240D Automatic engine in a Manual Car? (Vibration + flywheel?)
.....because when you switch the flywheel in lieu of the torque converter, you will get serious vibration problems..unless ypu switch the crank shaft... Is this true? ...if so I'm in trouble..I'm halfway done........

Carrameow,
I don't know why you're saying this. The only different in the crankshafts is the provision in the manual trans crankshaft for a pilot bearing or bushing. I would think that it would be releatively simple to have a pilot bushing fabricated at a machine shop. You also need to make sure you get the adapter plate from the back of the manual trans engine and bolt it to the auto trans engine before bolting on the flywheel. Good luck, |
