Hello everyone.
I have looked at bekkers and autobahn international for xenon ligh kits for my 560SEL. All that I can find are kits for the W140 and newer style cars . Would a conversion be possible ? I would think it would , considering the minute change from 90 to 92 headlight electronics . If so any idea on where I might be able to find it ?
Thanks

P.S. I E-mailed Barubus about W126 parts . Seems they don't carry them . Have to find Amg still .

There is no Xenon(at least official ones) for W126. However, what you could do is that you can buy a pair of Xenon light bulb(PIAA...etc.), they ain't as bright as real Xenon, but are sure an improvement over the stock lights. They also give out a cool blue/white look.

I read on this forum some time ago that those so called "xenon" bulbs were merely hallogen jobs with a special coat over them and that they are less, not more, illuminating due to it. Check back a few months and you'll see.

I think around the same time someone wrote in explaining the the conversion for a 140 was very expensive, let alone for a 126.

Besides there is a point where a car has to retain its original technology isn't there? Putting xenons in a 126 smacks of putting an airbag in a fintail.

Why not just replace the globes with higer wattage jobs? I removed the dodgy 55/60w H4s on my 123 and put in 90/100w H4's and haven't squinted since!

David.

Sorry to barge in but did the higher power bulb overburden the electrical system? Do you have euro-style headlamps or US sealed beams?

I've been thinking about doing this myself...

I was just curious as to weather the conversion was possible . I like the increased light output as well as the look of xenon lights , plus I think it would make the car that much more unique . I'll do some more searching . I don't think it smacks of anthing . If you can retro fit the lights to a 92 S-class I don't see it as outlandish to try to fit them to a 90 S-class.

Thanks for the iput guys .

Xenon converion is possible. Cost runs about $12-1500. If you really are interested I'll dig up the source.

Louis , sounds fantastic . Most conversions to Xenon cost that much . If you don' want to post it for everybody , please Email me the info at nicholas@itol.com . Thank you very much .
