I have an 87' 300E. In the glove box there is a decal stating that the airbag should be inspected in 1997. What is involved in this inspection? And after 12yrs won't the fabric of the bag have deteriorated somewhat? Is it still safe?

Mercedes extended the life of service to 15 years back in 1992, of course with UNCLE SAMS O.K. The inspection means Replacement!!
