stuck on front window defrost 126

I have a 1987 420 sel.The front window defrost is on all the time.None of the buttons will change it nor does the air recirculation button work;also the fan speed buttons have no effect.It is blowing on low.Does anyone know if this is a push button unit problem or something else?Thanks in advance,Chunky.
