97 E320 Will Not Start
The car had an accident, it has only 12000 miles, both air bags deployed, no demade to the engine, it seems to have lots of fuel comming to the main valve just before injectors.
What can i do to start the car? |
Does the starter motor work?? OR is it the starter motor works but the engine won't fire?
Do the red/green lights on the mirror flash when you try starting the engine? |
When I purchased the car the rearview mirror was disconected, I reconected it back, no red or green light flashing.
The engine is firing but it will not start . Thank you |
When you are cranking the car, is the check engine light illuminated?
It should be on as the engine is cranking or the ME control module has no power supply or is bad. These cars were common to have one of the connectors on the k40 relay to come off ever so slightly. This or a k40 relay that is bad could cause that problem. Brian |
Hi
The check engine light is on while cranking , by the way wher would i find that relay, so far i have not seen any relays on this car. Thank you |
any hel appreciated
|
please help, sorry for mistakes in previous post
|
This is easy. You either test or have someone else test. Can you test???
If you can't find any relays, I would have someone else test. First test is what is missing. Do you know what needs to be there? Spark, fuel, compression, and the timing of such. Which is missing? From the previous replies I'm only guessing that the starter works. |
K40 relay is under the hood near base of windshield on pass side.
It is under a black cover that has 4 phillips screws holding it down. The relay is easy to spot as it has fuses plugged into it and numerous connectors. That is as easy as I can explainit. Brian |
I opened the black box, one of the 15 amp fuses was burnt, I replaced it (it was the very first one counting from the fender)
The car still does not want to start, any other ideas appreciated |
I removed the spark plugs , they are wet from gasoline, i test the power for spark on spakplug it is there , the injectors are receiving impulse for injecting fuel but the car still does not start
|
The plugs should not be wet. That may be the problem, fouled plugs.
