oscassionaly jumpy transmission
 

Today while enjoying a full throttle merge onto the freeway, my transmission jumped from second to third back to second (2nd 3rd 2nd 3rd). It happened right after hitting redline in second and it was only for a split second. I've also have been noticing an occasional "jump down" (2nd 3rd 2nd 3rd) after I exectue a right turn then accelerate (not hard). Any thoughts?

Low fluid level OR you have the standard trans filter, instead of the one that has the slider for better fluid pick-up.

Thanks for the info. But what is this "slider" filter you speak of?

I forgot to ad that I'm driving a 92 400e w/approx 56K

Also do you know if it's beneficial to put in Mobil 1 synthetic transmission fluid?
