I have an 1987 MB 260E. Under braking, the car will shake. I originally thought it was bad brakes, so I replaced the front rotors and pads with MB parts. I bled the brakes while doing that also. The problem still presists. What can it be?! Worn sway bar/suspension bushings?

Do you feel this shake more in the brake pedal or the steering wheel?

If the steering wheel shakes on brake application, and the front rotors are new, my first guess would be a bad front tire(s).

If the steering wheel does not shake but the brake pedal pulsates along with a general vibration through the car, suspect the rear brakes/rotors.

In any case, I would not suspect suspension bushings, shocks, etc. if you only feel it while braking.

Hope this helps,

Hatch

Did you clean the hubs and apply a thin coat of grease to the hub when doing the rotors? I have seen some rust behind the new rotor cause this.
