Stalling problem 1988 190E 2.3

My 1988 190E 2.3 has an intermittent stalling problem (maybe 3 times a week). It would stall at any speed, even while cruising at 45 mph. The engine would just die without warning, no misfiring or slowing down, just die. Can anybody help please?
