magnetic base for dial indicator

Hi all,

I have a dial indicator with a broken magnetic base (e.g. for checking wheel bearing preload). What retailer/auto parts store is likely to have one, I've not noticed them at Sears in the past.

Thanks,
Brian

If you have a local Harbor Freight you might want to check there first.... otherwise you might look in the yellow pages for machinist's tools, etc... there is a lot of difference in prices on this stuff... and the magnetic base is not a high tech item..

I think JC Whitney has them for $19.99 US dollars.
