My check engine light came on but the car drives fine. I booked an appointment (2 weeks from now) to get it fixed. just wondering if the car is OBD I or II? Just say it was the fuel filler cap that wasn't tightened on correctly, the dealer said that could be the problem. My question is, can you reset the check engine light yourself or do you have to bring it back to Mercedes?

All cars designed for the U.S. after 1995 must have OBD II. On most cars disconnecting the battery will reset the computer.
