Hello,
My 1986 300E has fallen victim to electroneurosis. When I turn the foglamps and headlights on, the following condition exists: the right front turn signal light stays lighted; the left front turn signal is not lighted; the right rear stop/turn lamps are lighted as usual; and the left rear stop/turn lamps are NOT lit. The only lamp that works on the left rear is the turn signal. Any suggestions?
As usual, all suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
Joe Slemp

Step 1. Get a ETM or go to a tech!! If you get the ETM, it will have all of the wiring diagrams needed to diagnose and repair the fault. One common thing is to have the wrong bulbs in the slots that require the 2 pin bulbs.

Benzmac,

I made sure the bulb was correct- a 2 filament 21/5 bulb. I replaced it with a new one and I still have the same problem. I'm going to check all the grounds local to the signal lamps and headlamps this afternoon to make sure they're grounded well.

Thanks,

Joe Slemp

I have seen very few ground problems with the Mercedes I have worked on. You need a wiring diagram!
