importing a euromodel benz

importing a 600SEL. We are experienced car owners.
We are importing a 93 600SEL, euro model. Has an EPA metal sticker on passenger side engine compartment, near windshield. Our rude&unfriendly importer in Florida having problems recognizing the label as EPA compliant. All other DOT conversions done. Need help in who to talk to or if others have experience in importing a German made Benz. We have called the factory for this model near Stuggart whom indicate via telephone on31Dec02, that this high end model for sure meets all US EPA spec's. We have had the necessary DOT conversions done (new instrument panel, 3rd brake light, side marker lamps, inside door beams, etc). Looking for advice on this issue or anyone whom has had related experiences. many thanks in advance.
