Again, it helps to know what model you are working on, but I expect that what you are hearing is somewhat normal IF this is happening with transmission in neutral. More details regarding the condition will be helpful.

Is this with trans in gear?

Does it happen in all gears?

Does it happen while the car is moving or at rest?

etc.

Have a great day,

djjeant 01-08-2003 03:52 PM

Try this with car in neutral depress clutch just a little and see if it makes a noise if it does try adjusting the clutch and if that doesn't work you probably need a bearing.
If you mechanic replaced the clutch without replacing the bearing I would find a new mechanic if I were you.
Good Luck
