94 S420. While driving, under various circumstances, the ASR light will come on, then at that point, although the engine is still running, it will not rev. The car will coast to a stop. Power steering/brakes still work. Shutting off the car, and restarting it will get things working again. This started happening about 2/3 weeks ago, and has happened about once a week since then.
Any ideas? Thanks. |

No ideals from this info. This system has diagnostic troble codes that are stored when a fault occurs. Have a qulified tech that has the correct diag. tools pull the codes then go from there.

The problem could be the linkage is adjusted wrong. That car has to see a response from the accell pedal and a matching signal from the ASR components. If the throttle cable is a little too tight, the system gets the signal from the engine side, but not from the accell side. Check the cable adjustment at the rear of the air filter assembly. A small amount of freeplay is all that is needed. If not that, see the dealer.
