Noisy fan W126 - are there inexpensive solutions
 

Hello fellow Mercedes lovers,

It seems that my fan is suite noisy why I want to fix it. It´s the fan on the rear side of the cooler and the sound is a metallic irregular tin can rattling sound - as if there´s something.

Is there anyone that have any good ideas on how I could fix this without spending a fortune.

One thing to try is to lubricate the blower motor bearings with ATF.

Are you talking about the engine driven fan on the engine side of the radiator? That sound might be the fan scraping against the radiator or the pulleys on the front of the engine.
