My 300TD tailgate shock absorbers are almost dead. However, I cannot figure out how to get to them to replace them. Tried removing interior rear roof panel but did not see any outlet, just sheet metal. Any help is much appreciated!!

I have same problem, but can't even get the roof ;panel off. How did you do that? I have removed all the screws. Does the light assembly have to colme out too? And did you solve the replacement problem. I have two shocks ready to install.
