Electrical sensor glitch/problem?

Is this just a glitch and coincidental problem or is there a part in the electrical system that would cause this? A few times when starting the auto, the indicator lamp for the exterior lamps came on (no lamps turn on). I checked all bulbs to see if they lit up, okay there. In a few days, again upon start-up the brake pads wear indicator came on, drove a block and the indicator light went out. Are these system interconnected (such a common ground, etc.). Or most probably, I have an old installed bulb base starting to corrode and maybe a brake sensor wire to ground?

Enjoy your drive, thanks timreid

You most likely have a loose bulb socket. The bulb does not light at first, but then when you start moving, vibration causes contact to be made, thus turning the loose bulb on, in turn, causing the burned out bulb indicator to go off.

Turn on the lights but not the engine, then walk around the car to find the burned out bulb. Once found, turn off the lights and bend the bulb contact just a little to tighten the socket.

Good luck,

Larry, I’m have little knowledge about the electrical system in my car and so I'm cautious when it pertains to it,
thank you...
Do you read Road & Track, March 2003, an tech question about rotors/cross drill rotors, their opinion was “Cosmetics is why most rotors are drilled nowadays"

Enjoy your drive, timreid
