Realigning a steering column

I bought my 450SEL used. Looks like it was in a collision at some point.

As a result, the steering column is a few degrees off center . . . as you look at the steering wheel straight on, it points 5 degrees or so toward the left rear tire, rather than straight back toward the rear of the car (hope I'm explaining this clearly :D ).

I'd like to correct this misalignment. Any opinions on what needs to be done? My mechanical skills are average.

Thanks for any help

If I recall correctly, this series of cars does have an angel in the steering column. I believe this is correct.

Others?

My MB steering column has a slight angle to the left. Never been in an accd't. Came that way. Probably why so many of our driver's seats lean to the left after a zillion miles.
