Question W124 oxygen sensor connector location, code

Two days after we got the 94 E320 wagon back from the body shop (deer jumped in front of the car at 50mph) the check engine light came on. I pulled code 2 (oxygen sensor). I erased the code and it has not come back. Should I look for any detailed codes? Car still runs fine. But considering the car has 120 k miles, I already had a spare O2 sensor. My manuals say the connector plug is under the carpet. I tried to pull up the carpet on the driver's side, but am afraid I will do damage if I continue. I would appreciate more detailed instructions. tia.
