Grill badges
Seeking a source of new grill badges.
Back in the ol' days, when I was in college, I had a 1955 220s. I decorated the grill with badges, which could be purchased new from a catalog. I had, for example, a University of Cal and German flag badges. Does anyone know of a source of new grill badges? I now drive a 300e, and can't restrain myself from leaving the grill natural. |
Grille Badge
I just sold a German flag grille badge last week on ebay. I agree that they are really hard to find. I bought mine a couple years ago at a flag store at the Strasophere in Las Vegas. If you watch ebay they will come up occasionally.

How many miles does your car have? You may qualify for a "high mileage" badge from MB for FREE. They're issued in kilometers. The first one is 250,000KM (aprox 135K miles) They are blue and gold.

Rick...
...250k kilometers is approximately 155k miles...but what's 20k miles one way or the other among friends....:D

Just wondering, how do these badges mount to the grille? Is it a clip of some sort?

Grill Badges
They have two threaded posts which fit thru the grill. It is then secured from the back with nuts. Good quality badges will use hardware that won't corrode easily.
