AC Evaporator W140
My mechanic just diagnosed a leaking A/C evaporator. Says it'll cost @ $3,000 to replace. I've read the old posts on this...they seem to be consistant with their pricing.
Aside from the dealership in Cincinnati and Precision Motors...are there any other shops I should consider in this area? Thanks for your advice. CK

140 Evaporator
At $ 3000 is what MB seems to be charging, if you don't get any assistance from the factory. I would suggest discussing it with the service MGR. They assisted with parts on mine, it cuts it by a third. I saw what it looked like, with everything dissembled (think dash out). The dealerships have done so many they probably know what they are doing. There were hoses, dryer, and a lot of things replaced including the charcoal filter as long as they were at it.
