Power Steering Fluid

The power steering fluid was just flushed and refilled on my car. The steering seems tighter and requires a little more effort than before. Would changing to new p/s fluid cause this or, as I noticed, having the fluid slightly overfilled cause this?

What kind of problems could occur if the p/s fluid is overfilled? For example, I know overfilling engine oil causes churning and bubbles and eventually lube starvation. What would be the situation in the p/s and pump? Thanks.

It is possible that there was a little air in the system. The correct bleeding procedure is turning the steering wheel lock to lock several times. Flushing and bleeding may have changed this slightly. It also could be your imagination, I sometimes get into this myself.

If it is overfull, just siphon a little of the fluid off. It should not be above the white plastic piece around the center of the stud that the lid fits over.

Good luck,
