Aux. Water pump

The Aux. Water Pump on my 88 TE has a slow leak. Has anyone had a similiar problem? Anyone ever re-built a 124 pump? Is there a kit available? I have done a search and found info. on rebuilding a 123 pump, are the pumps on the 123 similiar to the 124?

What is the procedure to test it's function while on the car? The heater in the car works fine (no complaints from the boss). So I assume it is functioning properly.

It looks as if the case comes apart with four phillips screws. trying to determine if I should just bite the bullet and order a new one ($140-150.00)
