Fuel/Gas prices around the world.
Thought this might be an interesting thread, particularly in light of current world events, and prices look likely to rise even more.
Here in the UK we pay on average £0.75 (inclusive of tax) for a litre of 95 RON unleaded. Current rate of exchange between UK Pounds and US Dollars is 0.6) puts that at about 45cents per litre?! How much is the rest of the world paying?? If my calculations are wrong, please let me know - but gently :D |
OOOOOOOOOOOPPSSS
After recalculating, I make it $1.25 per litre.

In Vancouver, BC, Canada, 87 octane is right now at 83.9 cents Canadian per litre...on March 1, a 3.5 cents Canadian per litre gas tax increase will be implemented also, by our drunk-driving BC Premier Mr. Campbell...

Seen this thread a few times before but . . . an update always captures the attention ! Here in Dubai, U.E.A., I always use premium unleaded, 98 octane unleaded in both my cars, and that is DHS 5 per imperial gallon, and that works out at about £0.80p a gallon. ! ( about US$ 1.20 per Imp. gallon ) On the few occasions that I use my 500E driven hard, at about 16 miles to the gallon, that to me is good value !

i wish mine ran on snow
;) but alas it doesn't an so i must pay 92.5 cents per litre.only 82.5 for regular unleaded-but who uses that!remember 1 US gallon equals 4.5 litres.if we're gonna have this war--let's get on with it!DO YOU REALLY THINK THE AMERICANS WENT ALL THAT WAY TO PLAY VOLLEYBALL IN THE DESERT?oops sorry about the cap's

Actually, you're confusing your metric/Imperial/US conversions. A US gallon is 3.87 litres and an Imperial gallon (UK) is 4.54 litres.
Here in oil rich Alberta, a litre of premium MB-grade gasoline is $0.869. That's $0.54USD per litre. Multiply by 3.87, and we're paying $2.08 per US dollar per US gallon. However, there is the problem of purchasing parity, as the incomes in nominal dollars in the US are roughly the same in the US as in Canada. Therefore, in terms of "whack of your wallet" we Canadians pay the equivalent of $3.87 a gallon. |
as of feb 14 gas prices in charleston,wv area are
$1.74 reg $1.84 plus $1.94 premium a 20 cent spike prices are in u.s.dollars and in gallons peter |
Oh how I wished we could get better gas here!!! The bay area is pretty expensive:
87: $1.87 89: $1.97 91: $2.07 And this in Sunnyvale, it is about 10 - 20 cents more in some areas. ~dnm |
fuel prices In Moscow
0.36 US$ per liter of 95 octane which is roughly equal to 0,23 GB pounds in some areas of Russia fuel could be up to 50% more expensive |
Old memories and gas
Quote:
The last time I was in Sunnyvale, Lockheed had already sold of lots of land. Office blocks were going up everywhere. The 'Pacific Fresh' and 'Charlie Brown's' restaurants had already been closed. I spent about 7 months over a 5 year period (Sep '97 - Jun '01) working in the 'Blue Cube'. Have they finished the rail link to SF yet? On my first trip out a colleague and I were looking at the map and we thought we would go for a drive. Sacramento looked interesting so off we went. We did Sunnyvale/Sacramento/Sunnyvale in a day, but oh boy not again. Talk about a long drive!! |
Here in Uzbekistan(central asia) we pay 230 sums per liter which is about 20 US cents per liter. The price is fixed and the purchasing power of parity is lower than in the US.

Just filled-up this morning with premium. (56.6liters)
$Can0.979 per liter $US2.45/us gal. . 06Euro/liter fill-up cost: $CAN56.80 $US37.31 34.57 EURO |
Super Unleaded (92 octane) Chevron prices in the Portland, Oregon area:
1.87 per gallon (Vancouver WA, across the river from Portland) 1.99-2.05/gallon in Portland Taxes are a bit less in Washington, resulting in 10-15 cents per gallon less cost for gas. I drive the 10 miles over the bridge to Vancouver to buy my gas. |
In Dallas TX at CostCO (a membership retailer)
$1.72 per US Gallon for 91 octain I saw 91 in Los Angeles for $2.08 2 weeks ago .... I am sure it is at least $25 oer gallon by now  |
Well i guess we are patially to blame, the oil strike is gonna take a while. But if you can get the gas or are whilling to spend a couple of days in lane this is what you pay.
0.17 of a $ for a gallon of 95 unleaded 0.14 of a $ for a gallon of 89 leaded Diesel is even cheaper $0.08 for a gallon Diesel is not very good quality , too much sulfur but is getting better now at @ .5 ppm Last time i went to buy me a truck i wanted a diesel but for the $ 4000 option i would have to drive the truck al least 10 years just to get my money back with this gas prices. |
