Transmission Fluid Leak on 126
Searched and did not find what I needed:
I have a leak in the front part of my tranny that drips onto the exhaust manifold and leaves a small puddle in the garage. What is more likely, a front pump or front seal? How much would it cost to fix? With 225,000 miles, is it worth the cost involved to fix or wait until the tranny needs a rebuild? |
leak
front seal almost definitely. R and R of a tranny is expensive for a $3.00 seal. I would try a pint of stopleak and fingers crossed. It should delay the R and R for a while at least until the rebuild.

Transmission leak
In all probability the front pump o'ring is leaking requiring removal of the front pump and replacing all necessary seals required. About 12 hrs. labor involved.
