how difficult to replace...
 

How difficult is it to replace the inside door handle latch on my '90 350SDL? The handle that you pull to open up the door. I believe it is held in place via a pin at the hinged point. I think the pin is broken somewhat because I can grab it and it wiggles up and down. Do I have to take the whole door panel off? If so, how difficult is it? It is a W126.

The inside door handles are the same on 126's and 123's. Carefully pry out the plastic liner beneath the release handle(easier than it sounds). This will reveal a phillips screw holding the handle in place. Remove the screw and manipulate the handle to release it from the rod connecting it to the door lock and you are 1/2 way there. Install the new handle in reverse order. You should have no problem
