Idle adjustment and Thank You!!!
Guys, I really need to thank everyone for guiding me with my first Diesel (1985 300TD Wagon). Since I bought it I personally found a vacuum leak (woudn't shut off and door locks weren't working), I replaced the glow plugs (it wasn't starting), and today I replaced the tie rod asemblies (a tow truck driver pulled the car on a flat bed using these). I thank everyone with their advice and great help!!!! My next project is adjusting the idle which is slightly low and causes the car to shake slightly when in idle so I need to raise it about 100 RPM to about 750-800. The throtle linkage consist of many parts and I don't want to mess something up so advices are again appreciated.
I thank you all!!! Igor Zeljic, Minneapolis. |

You are welcome. The fuel injection pump has a rack dampener. Often these need to be replace or at least adjusted. Do a search. This often is a way to smooth the idle out without raising it. Haasman |
