Due to the UV rays over many years the rear deck of my 1986 300E has faded from burgundy to various shades of gray-violet. The car is otherwise immaculate, so it'd be nice to bring the rear deck up to standard. At approximately $1,000 Cdn for a new shelf and first-aid cover, replacement is out of the question.

I would appreciate hearing of anyone's experience with re-dyeing or recovering the rear shelf/cover, particularly as a DIY project.

Thanks in advance,
Barrie
