Where to connect a remote starter on the 1990 560SEL?

I'm trying to determine the connection points under the hood for a remote starter (1990 560SEL). I want to spin the starter/engine while working under the hood.

The factory manual shows three connectors going to the starter, two of which (30 and 50) are shorted with a remote starter.

My car only has two such points, bridged, and both show +12 volts with the ignition off. They are on the passenger's side firewall, in front of the windshield washer reservoir, covered with a canted, snap-on, black plastic cover. (The third small Phillips screw connector is, I assume, for the starter solenoid).

Can anyone help me identify where to connect the remote starter? A picture would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I have used a remote starter on all my cars but never on a 560SEL. On principle it should work the same. I have always used a momentary push bottom switch with alligator clips on long leads. One goes to the positive terminal on the battery and the other goes to the positive lead on the solenoid attached to the starter. I usually try each until i find the right one. ONe way to confirm the correct on is to remove the lead and try the key. If it does not turn, that is the one. Not elegeant but it will work. Not much you can do wrong by oputting a 12v current to any of the leads on the solenoid.

Good luck

Henry

Neat solution - I'll give it a try.
