C280 problem?

I have noticed since I've had my 95 c280 out of storage, it hick-ups at low rpm -seems to do it most in third gear, Just cruising along and the rpm's drop for a split second and then go back up. Any ideas?

I got the same problem as while I hit 30-40mph that's the only time it kicks in. :(

How long has your car been doing it for?

Have you looked into the problem?

It's been a while back and I've never bother to look into it.
Sometimes it will stay down for while and I just kindna knock on the face of the cluster so the needle would move up.

speedo problems

My speedo needle sticks at zero for a few seconds from a standstill start up to about 40kph, then it jumps into action! This seems to happen only when it is quite hot outside, about 30 degrees celcius and more. Otherwise, it works like a dream. Wanted to change the whole cluster for a recycled set for A$400 installed, but the mileage would be different and won't correspond with the books. Would be nice if I am selling the car and got one with say 85,000kms instead of 192,000kms and claim I lost the book!!! LOL.

The internal resting peg for the speedo is painted, and in hot weather, the paint can get sticky and then the needle will stick on the peg initially. The solution is to remove the cluster and clean the paint off of the peg. There is probably nothing more than this wrong with the cluster, so try that first before replacing it.
