I think my 87 420SEL needs a valve job... at the last maintenance (95,000mi), pulling the covers revealed that the valve guides are allowing too much play, and leaking some oil into the chamber. At that time, we went ahead and did the valve stem seals, and have already done the timing chain, guides, tensioner).
What price range am I looking at in Southern California for this work? $2000? $3000? $4000? More? Thanks... [This message has been edited by Jasper (edited 01-24-2000).] |

I do not know of Southern Cal., but here (Atl), I'd plan on about $4-5K.
