Ignition Tumbler Replacement--300E

Today for the first time my ignition tumbler decided to act up. It started getting sticky in all of the positions and I actually thought I was going to have to get it towed. I'm not going to play around with this thing, I'm going to order the new part tomorrow and install it asap. Now on to my questions. What should I use to stick in the "holes" of the tumbler to pull it out? And, am I correct in saying that the ignition needs to be in position 2 (first click to the right) ?

Thanks for your help as always :)

Siff wire the size of the holes is what is required.

You will get a new key with the tumbler, I think -- check, and get one if it doesn't automatically come with.

Get rid of all your aftermarket brass keys, too -- they wear and will give exactly the same problem. I've seen steel keys worn enough to give trouble, but you've got about 15 more years of daily use to get to that point!
