About a month ago,I experienced an onboard dash display on the radiator reservoir being empty. It ocurred after a long drive of about 500km.I topped it up and everything was fine.A similar incident happened again. Is this a normal occurence in a 1991 200E W124.I am new at this,do we need to check the tank periodically.Temperature is operating at 80-100 range. Also how often does one change the rear axle gear oil? Thanks Royland

No, that's not normal. You've got a leak or it's running hot. You can change the rear end gear oil as often as you like. It's more important to check the level. I believe the owners manual will give you the interval, but every 30,000 is probably OK

If the level is dropping, you can have a pressure test done on the system to find any weakness.
