Cv Axle Joints ?homokinetic Or Annular??

I have an 81 300D and need to replace the CV Joints and Axles!
How do you determine if you have a homokinetic or annular joint.?????? How do you know if it is 8mm or 12mm. Please help
the car doesn't move well with these removed
