Leaky power steering

I think I've narrowed a seeping leak near the power steering pump of my 95 E420 to a leaking reservoir. Is the replacement of the small hose/seal of the pump itself a DIY job for a medium competence mechanic or is this something better left to the pros? This same problem happended about 55K ago.
If it is a DYI, any tips/suggestions?
Cheers SocksE420

Can't tell you how easy but while my E420 was in for another job, they found power steering reservoir leaking. Totla cost to remove replace seals, fluid, gaskets and hose was $162.00 , so I think I would maybe try and fix myself. Can't be that difficult. By the way, my car had 59,000 miles when this happened,,,,must be a E420 thing

there are several articles in the archive that walks
you through servicing the ps, but it seems messy
and you need extra help doing it.

i'd rather pay the cash than lose a friend!

My power steering hose leaked also at 42,000km...'95 E420...kinda odd...the hoses are cheap...the labour I think they quoted me for was around 1 hour...but it depends how many/which one you want replaced

Not unusual for MB PS pumps to need resealing on a regular basis, or for hoses to leak. I personally would rather farm out a job like this to someone who's been there before. As you can see, getting to the reservoir on an M119 engine is NOT exactly easy.
