1) Very sluggish performance starting from standstill. Unless the gas pedel is depressed completely to the floor, acceleration is slow. At higher speeds (40 - 50mph) acceleration does not seem as bad. Any recommendations would be great???

2) Need to replace broken side mirror switch on center console. How do I remove the wood grain center console around shifter?

To remove the wood console bezel, you want to pry up the plastic shift trim around the shifter, perhaps using a small flat-head (carefully of course)... afte rthat you will just pull up the panel from the front (by the ash tray. From there, you will see how to remove the switch from the underside of the panel.
