Greetings everyone,
I have a question..How do I know if my turbo is going out? It seems to work okay now, I can hear it faintly whine up, but I had the air tube off and stuck my fingers inside and grasped the turbo shaft and it had some back and forth play. It didn't move up and down though. Just concerned because the car is pushing 300,000 miles. What does a replacememnt set one back on a 116? Thanks! John

A little play is normal on this. The whine could be a waste gate hose that has blown off. Have it checked.
