Tranny Swap Question?
 
I will be buying a 89' 300E Trans for my 89 190E 2.6l in a matter of days. Is it absolutely necessary that I upgrade to the w124 torque convertor and if so what will be the benefits?

Can't stand to see you so desperate for an answer that you go "bump" so:

Give it a shot! Reuse the parts you have. If they don't work, worst case is that your car will be in the shop for a few weeks and then you'll get it back (assuming you pay the bill). This isn't your daily driver is it?
