Hi!
Here's what I've noticed: When the engine is freshly started the idling goes up and down. *Take note it's not rough. A better way to describe it is that it like REVS up every 5 secs or so. It can be simulated in a tuned engine when you "press & let go" on the accelerator every 5 secs. Someone told me it could be vacuum related. Does vacuum have something to do with the 300D's engine? Thank you again! Francis 85 300D 55K Philippines |
Diesel engines are not throttled, thus they do not make vacuam. The problem you describe is called "hunting", and is probably related to the govenor. This should be a minor adjustment for a Benz diesel technician.
