Oh yeah also where would the coil be located?

What year and model car are we talking about here? :confused:

The car is a1987 420 SEL

Hi radlark,

that would be at the driverside front. You can follow the wires from the distributor to the spark plugs and one of them will go to the coil (the one from the middle of the distributor). The plastic cover for the distributor comes off by just pulling it of the 3 lips it fits over.
On the picture, I have already pulled the wire to the coil. The coil is not in the picture.
