new A/C compressor replacment

hi
Does anyone have any tips on how to drain and refill the
a/c before i put a new compressor in,
My a/c works fine but on hot days with the a/c off there is a
nasty noise in the clutch, It looks alot easier to replace the whole unit, then just the clutch with the special tools,
Plus the guy on ebay sell rebuild compressors with new clutches
for the cheaper then just a new clutch from MB
thanks
Dave
