any bad experiences with a clk320??
hello all
my little brother is buying a '98 clk320. it has 26,000 orig miles, it is sweet. does anyone have any input or experiences they would share about the clk's?? thanks. he is picking it up tonight, i'll post some pix and m.b.shop will soon have another member. peter

I would only suggest that since it is a 1998 car with the 3.2 liter V6, he needs to have the rubber portion of the crankshaft pulley checked. There is lots in the archives about these failing.

Yes, read Donnies thread and if the part number of the balancer matches the one he designates as bad, INSIST that MBUSA change it for you.
My brother in law who is my tech at the dealership has a BIG paper sign taped to the lid of his toolbox that says; DON'T FORGET TO CHECK BALANCERS AND WATER PUMPS I don't know what model the water pump reminder is for, but I KNOW that the Balancer reminder is regarding the V6 engines. I understand that it shows no signs of failure very far ahead of the time that it comes apart. Good luck, |
