Springs

Does anyone have an opinion on putting rubber blocks in springs to level a car?

My 126s' sagging and leaning rear end problems have been solved by replacing the rear subframe mounts. New springs are something like $65 each from FastLane so I'd look into that before getting creative.

Shim Springs

My question is, the car leaned toward the drivers side. My mechanic inserted rubber blocks, problem solved. Cars looks fine. This cost me $70 parts and labor. Too good to be true. Is this shim possibly dangerous, or could it damage something?

I don't know about dangerous but the spring rates are effectively uneven from left to right with the rubber blocks in place. The side with the blocks will probably bottom out sooner.
