722.5 trans ratios. and diff ratio on 94 320
 

I've searched everywhere and can't seem to locate the ratios of the trans and rear end on a 1994 s320. Anyone have them? Just trying to fiqure what the the rpm's should at 60 mph in 5th gear. Thanks in advance for your time.

1st gear is 3.87/1
2nd gear is 2.24/1
3rd gear is 1.44/1
4th gear is 1/1
5th gear is 0.75/1
Reverse is 5.58/1
The rear axle ratio is 3.46/1 after 8/93

Any chance the 722.5 works would fit in a Porsche 928 4 speed casing...and work?

2100 rpms on cars with a 3.69 ratio and 2200rpms with a 3.46 ratio.

928s use a transaxle, a 722.5 transmission will not fit, fifth gear is electronic controlled, unless you what to spend thousands for a conversion with a weaker transmission with no performance gains; it’s not worth it.

WHERE WOULD I FIND....
 

That 3.69 rear ratio in a diff. that would bolt into my S320? It could be from a different model car or diesel, I don't care.

722.5 in a 190DT
 

HI All
Just picked up a 722.5 Trans (in need of a rebiuld) was thinking about installing it in my 1987 190DT.
Have plans upon swapping in the diff from a 190e16V. Either the 3.07 or 3.27 or lower
I think the lower gear ratio combined with an overdrive gear it should perform much better!
Have the 16v sway bars and front brakes with drilled rotors on all 4 corners with 6X16 AMG Penta wheels (1986 vintage) 205/55/16, SPA boost/EGT gauge in 16V counsel gauge set, 16V fuel tank.

Some issues:
converting trans to a speedo cable and controlling 5 gear lock up (maybe a floor shifter with the "B" gear lock up and a push botton switch for overdrive?)

Any advice?

All So:

WTB a set of injectors for the OM602 (with threads on the bottom) and an IP pump (both need to be at a reasonable price I am car poor - have too many of those thangs!!!)
